Nigeria’s high jump record holder, Temitope Adeshina, has thrown her weight behind the development of emerging athletes by sponsoring the women’s high jump event at the Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet.

The competition, scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the YabaTech Stadium in Lagos, will see the top four finishers in the women’s high jump share a total prize purse of ₦200,000.

Under the prize-money arrangement, the winner will receive ₦100,000, while the second-place finisher will earn ₦50,000. The third and fourth-place athletes will take home ₦30,000 and ₦20,000, respectively.

Adeshina’s gesture comes after an impressive 2026 season in which she won both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor High Jump titles for Texas Tech Track & Field, further cementing her status as one of Nigeria’s leading athletes on the international stage.

A Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and two-time African Championships silver medallist, the Nigerian star has continued to distinguish herself in international competitions while inspiring a new generation of athletes.

Her sponsorship of the women’s high jump event reflects a commitment to giving back to the sport and creating opportunities for upcoming athletes to showcase their talents.

The initiative also forms part of Athletic Heat’s 10th anniversary celebrations, which highlight the competition’s decade-long contribution to athletics and the development of emerging talents.

Athletes interested in participating in the anniversary meet have been encouraged to register through A3 Tickets.

With Adeshina’s support, the women’s high jump event is expected to provide an additional incentive for competitors seeking recognition and financial rewards as they pursue their athletics ambitions.

The Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet will be held under the theme, “10 Years of Impact. A Legacy That Keeps Running.”
