European Aquatics conducts solidarity tour across Ukraine

President Antonio Silva and Vice President Erkan Yalcin visited training facilities across Kyiv, Lviv, and Odessa. The governing body vowed continued support for the nation’s elite programmes and resilient sports infrastructure. Across a series of working meetings, competitive events, and high-level training centre inspections, the European Aquatics' delegation met with federation leaders and government representatives who continue to protect and develop aquatic sports despite the many institutional challenges the ongoing war with Russia present. World Aquatics amends guidelines for Russians, Belarusians

Following a joint decision with the Aquatics Integrity Unit, swimmers from both countries will be allowed to compete in international events under the same conditions as other athletes, provided they pass at least four consecutive anti-doping tests. The World Aquatics Athletes' Committee also took part in the decision-making process and, following deliberations, the guidelines governing athlete participation in aquatic events during periods of political conflict ceased to apply to senior athletes from both countries. The policy shift comes after the governing body restored the same conditions enjoyed by athletes of other sporting nationalities, allowing them to compete with their respective uniforms, flags and national anthems, something that had already previously been granted to junior athletes. The NAF president, stated that the turnout of athletes is clear evidence of the hard work of the federation and the various state governments in projecting the sport in their states. “I would rate the aquatics event very high because a lot of states participated.We at the Nigeria Aquatics Federation are getting it right, we have grown, we are doing well, we are performing at the continental level, we are doing very well,” she added. NSC congratulates Abduljabar Adama, Nigeria Aquatics Federation on historic silver medal at World Junior Swimming Championships

   The National Sports Commission (NSC) congratulates 17-year-old swimming sensation Abduljabar Adama and the Nigeria Aquatics Federation following his historic silver medal in the men’s 50m butterfly event at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Otopeni, Romania. Adama clinched silver with an impressive time of 23.64 seconds, finishing just 0.10 seconds behind Great Britain’s Dean Fearn, who took gold with 23.54 seconds.  NSC Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, hailed Adama’s achievement as a milestone for Nigerian sports. “Abduljabar Adama’s silver medal is a proud moment for Nigeria and for Africa.
