Nigeria sweep Chad 3–0, set up Algeria clash

Nigeria made a winning start to their campaign at the 2026 CAVB Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship in Tunis, Tunisia, defeating Chad 3–0 in their Group C encounter.

The Nigerian side produced a controlled performance to secure the straight-set victory, winning 25–17, 25–17, 25–16.

Nigeria maintained the initiative throughout the contest, taking the opening two sets by identical margins before closing out the match with a nine-point advantage in the third set.

The victory gives Nigeria their first win of the championship, while Chad suffered their second consecutive defeat in the competition.

Nigeria will, however, face a tougher test on Thursday when they take on Algeria in their second Group C match at the El Menzah Stadium in Tunis.

The encounter will provide another opportunity for Nigeria to build momentum as the pool-stage battle intensifies.
