Lionel Messi is about to become a club owner
Lionel Messi is reportedly on the brink of adding another Spanish football club to his growing business empire after reaching an agreement in principle to acquire 100% of C.D. Eldense, a club competing in Spain’s second division.
The 39-year-old Argentine icon is expected to take full control from Colombian investment group TH Soluciones Group S.A.S., which currently holds the club’s majority stake.
If completed, the blockbuster takeover would mark Messi’s second ownership move in Spanish football. Earlier this year, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner reportedly completed the purchase of UE Cornellà, a fifth-tier Spanish club.
