Tottenham complete Savinho signing as summer spending surpasses £300 million

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Brazil international Savinho from Manchester City, taking the club’s spending during a dramatic summer rebuild beyond £300 million ($409.23 million).

The transfer was confirmed by both clubs on Monday, with neither side disclosing the fee or the length of Savinho’s contract. However, British media reports had put the value of the deal at £75 million, with a further £10 million potentially payable in performance-related add-ons.

The 22-year-old winger becomes one of the most significant additions to Tottenham’s squad as manager Roberto De Zerbi attempts to reshape the team following a disappointing campaign that saw the North London club finish 17th in the Premier League, narrowly avoiding relegation.

Savinho’s arrival takes Tottenham’s total summer expenditure to around £322 million when the potential add-ons are included, underlining the scale of the club’s rebuilding project.

The Brazil winger arrives after establishing himself at Manchester City as an exciting attacking option, and Tottenham will hope his pace, creativity and ability to operate from wide areas can help transform their fortunes.
