Morgan Rogers Scores on Chelsea Debut but Admits He Is Yet to Hit Top Gear

Morgan Rogers marked his competitive Chelsea debut in impressive fashion on Monday, scoring in their 3-2 Premier League victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage, but the England forward believes there is still much more to come.

Rogers, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa last month for a British-record £117 million ($159.51 million), wasted little time demonstrating why the club made such a significant investment in him.

The 24-year-old found the net with a composed side-footed finish to put Chelsea 2-0 ahead, capping a lively display in which he linked effectively with fellow attackers Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

Rogers was withdrawn by manager Xabi Alonso with around 10 minutes remaining as Chelsea held on for a hard-fought victory over their London rivals.

Despite making an immediate impact, Rogers insisted he is still working towards full fitness and believes his best form is yet to come.

The forward's debut goal will nevertheless provide an early indication of his potential value to Alonso's Chelsea as they look to build momentum in the Premier League.
