Customs, CNS Spikers glow as thrilling matches illuminate Day 2 of CGC Volleyball Premier League

The second day of the 3rd CGC Volleyball Premier League produced a blend of dominant performances and nail-biting five-set encounters as teams battled for supremacy in both the men's and women's categories.
In the women's division, defending contenders Nigeria Customs Service maintained their impressive form with a commanding straight-sets victory over VIP & Partner. Customs controlled the contest from start to finish, winning 25-20, 25-11, 25-20 to secure another important victory.
One of the most exciting matches of the day saw Anambra Queens edge Excelsior VC 3-2 in a fiercely contested encounter.
After sharing the opening four sets, Anambra Queens held their nerve in the deciding set to claim a dramatic 16-14 victory and seal the match.
CNS Spikers were ruthless against Fire Service, cruising to a comprehensive 3-0 win. They dominated every set, winning 25-8, 25-15 and 25-14 to underline their title credentials.
NSCDC recovered from a first-set setback to defeat Kada Emeralds 3-1. After dropping the opener 16-25, NSCDC responded emphatically, taking the next three sets 25-14, 25-14 and 25-8.
COAS Spikers also rallied from behind to overcome NAF Rockets 3-1. Having lost the opening set 23-25, the Army side stormed back to win the next three sets 25-17, 25-16 and 25-15.
Another thrilling comeback was recorded by Olalomi Royal Angels, who fought back from two sets down to defeat Benue Queens 3-2.
After losing the first two sets 15-25 and 26-28, Royal Angels staged a remarkable turnaround, winning the final three sets 25-19, 25-12 and 15-11.
In the men's category, NSCDC emerged victorious in arguably the match of the day, edging Ajase Ipo 3-2 in a marathon encounter.
NSCDC raced into a two-set lead before Ajase Ipo mounted a comeback to force a decider. The final set went down to the wire, with NSCDC eventually prevailing 19-17.
COAS Spikers enjoyed a comfortable outing against Offa, recording a straight-sets victory of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-20.
Defence Spikers defeated Life Camp VC 3-1, with the fourth set providing plenty of drama. After sharing the first two sets, Defence Spikers sealed the contest with a hard-fought 30-28 win in the fourth set.
UCEM VC and Sunshine Spikers delivered another classic five-set battle. UCEM eventually emerged 3-2 winners after recovering from a narrow third-set defeat, taking the deciding set 15-8.
Nigeria Customs Service continued their strong campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Nigeria Police, winning 25-19, 25-17 and 25-20.
CNS Spikers completed another dominant performance in the men's division, defeating Nigeria Correctional Service in straight sets.
Despite a spirited challenge from their opponents in the opening two sets, CNS Spikers held firm to win 30-28, 26-24 and 25-18.
With several teams maintaining unbeaten runs and a number of closely fought contests already captivating fans, the race for honours at the 3rd CGC Volleyball Premier League is gathering momentum as the competition heads into its third day.
