The 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season heads into a defining weekend as Matchday 32 fixtures promise drama at both ends of the table, with the title race, continental spots, and relegation battle all hanging in the balance.

At the summit, Rangers International FC leads the standings with 54 points, but their grip on the top spot is anything but secure.

Just two points behind, Rivers United FC remain firmly in contention, while Nasarawa United FC (50 points) and surprise package Ikorodu City FC (49 points) continues to apply pressure in a fiercely contested top four.

This weekend, all eyes will be on key fixtures that could reshape the title race. Leaders Rangers face a tricky away test against Shooting Stars SC, a side still pushing for continental qualification.

Rivers United, meanwhile, will look to keep pace when they host struggling Kun Khalifat FC.

Third-placed Nasarawa United are away to Kwara United FC, who are fighting for survival, while Ikorodu City takes on Warri Wolves FC in another potentially decisive clash.

Elsewhere, Abia Warriors FC will aim to strengthen their continental ambitions against Enyimba FC in one of the standout fixtures of the weekend.

The People’s Elephant, currently languishing in 16th, are desperate for points to steer clear of the relegation zone.

At the bottom, the battle for survival is just as intense.

Wikki Tourists FC, Remo Stars FC, Kwara United, and Kun Khalifat occupy the drop zone, with only a few points separating them from safety.

Every match now carries do-or-die significance.

Other fixtures see Bendel Insurance FC host Plateau United FC, while El Kanemi Warriors FC welcome Remo Stars.

Niger Tornadoes FC will battle Wikki Tourists, and Bayelsa United FC face a tough test against Kano Pillars FC.

With just seven matches left, the NPFL season is reaching boiling point.

From the title contenders to relegation threatened sides, every point is now priceless as the race for glory and survival intensifies.
