The Director General of the National Sports Commission, (NSC), Chief, Honourable Bukola Olopade, has classified news reports and stories of quarrels and dissensions in the NSC as half-truths, innuendoes, propaganda and outright falsehood, pedaled by quack and contemptible journalist.

Honourable Bukola Olopade, condemned in very strong terms attempts by some journalists to tarnish the image of the NSC under the proactive and forward-looking leadership of Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko.

“A whole lot of shenanigans have been going on, I have a brother and friend, an amazing beautiful man, who is a true leader, a man I love and respect so much, Mallam Shehu Dikko, there was never a time we played any match, we fight billion naira, the was never a time, the ridiculousness of that story is enough for SWAN to reprimand the writer. We have reported officially under section 19 of the cybercrime act to the DSS,” he said.

Chief Olopade explained that the cord between him and Mallam Shehu Dikko, is rock-solid and it emits a high sense of sincerity, adding that he and Mallam Shehu Dikko understands their roles in the NSC and they are not bickering over position.

“We are friends to the media, we love the media, but our children, our family are suffering from lies that have been perpetrated by, quack journalists. Shehu Dikko and I have never quarreled or fought over position, I know the Chairman is the leader of the National Sports Commission, and I know I'm the Director General working under the Chairman, no issues, for someone to wake up and say there is arguments at the NSC, is not only ridiculous, it's shameful such journalist to write such, it's so stupid and faul minded,” he fired back.

The NSC Director General made this affirmation on Friday evening in an interview with newsmen after the closing ceremony of the 9th National Youth Games, taking place in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Since the appointment of Honourable Olopade and Mallam, to head sports in Nigeria, they are working to transform the sporting landscape of Nigeria, and their goal is to take it to a higher level, never witnessed before, this Chief Olopade highlighted, emphasizing that this could not have been possible in a disunited house.

“Shehu Dikko and I have our eyes on the board, we are concentrating on innovating, we're working hard to bring a system that is production oriented, not consumption oriented, this is why we have bid for the Commonwealth Games,” he added.

He further emphasized that the NSC sees all other sports Federations as members of a united family, and they will do everything within their power to keep it that way.

“There are no issues between us and the NFF, we are a family and we are all focus-driven, they are part of us, we are a team,” he concluded.
