Nigeria drawn with Cameroon, Ghana, Tunisia at the 2026 African Women's Senior Volleyball Nations Championship

Nigeria will begin their quest to conquer the continent at the 2026 African Women's Senior Volleyball Nations Championship in Kenya in Group C.

Arch rival Cameroon, Ghana and Tunisia are the other countries in Group C of the competition.

Hosts Kenya are Group A along with Mali and Zambia.

Egypt, Uganda, Burkina Faso and Senegal are in Group B while Algeria, Burundi, DR Congo and Rwanda are the occupants of Group D.

The Nigerian team will be led by captain Ijeoma Ukpabi.

Ukpabi is in Nairobi among side outside hitters by Maryam Ibrahim, Deborah Chukwu and Mmesoma Okekearu, while Deborah Sunday, Ganiyat Lateef and Aisha Bello is the team’s middle blockers.

Kelechi Ndukauba and Christiana Paul will provide options in the opposite hitter position, with Aisha Umaru and Enewa Odoh selected as setters.

Jummai Bitrus completes the playing squad as Nigeria’s libero.

The team will be managed by Elishama Elam, with Olusegun Abinde serving as assistant coach and Sunday Akapson taking responsibility as setters trainer.

Nigeria will be hoping that the carefully selected squad can deliver a strong performance in Kenya as the country renews its challenge for continental honours.

The winner of the 2026 African Women's Senior Volleyball Nations Championship in Kenya will represent Africa at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
