Lagos clubs dominate NNL Super 4

The battle for supremacy in the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League Super 4 took an exciting turn on Wednesday as the two Lagos clubs delivered commanding performances on Matchday 2 at the Remo Stars Stadium.
After suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to in their opening game, Inter Lagos responded in emphatic fashion with a convincing 2-0 victory over.
The encounter was evenly balanced in the first half, with both teams struggling to break each other down as the game headed into the interval goalless.
However, Inter Lagos returned from the break with renewed intensity and got the breakthrough just two minutes into the second half.
Qoyum Akinpelu fired home a powerful effort from inside the box in the 47th minute to hand his side the lead and spark their dominance.
The Lagos side continued to pile pressure on Ranchers Bees and were rewarded again in the 70th minute when Akinpelu was fouled inside the penalty area.
Captain Bayo Oyedele stepped up confidently and converted from the spot to seal a crucial 2-0 win for Inter Lagos.
In the second game of the day, Sporting Lagos underlined their title credentials with a ruthless 4-0 demolition of Doma FC.
Still buoyed by their opening day 1-0 victory over Ranchers Bees, Sporting Lagos rediscovered their attacking rhythm in devastating style to move within touching distance of the NNL Super 4 crown.
The result leaves Sporting Lagos at the top of the standings with six points from two matches, while Inter Lagos and Doma FC sit on three points apiece, with Inter occupying second place on superior goal difference.
Attention now shifts to Friday’s decisive fixtures, headlined by a highly anticipated Lagos derby between Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos, a clash that could ultimately determine the champions of the 2025/2026 NNL season.
Meanwhile, Doma FC will face Ranchers Bees, who are already out of title contention after consecutive defeats.
