International Skating Union announces 2026/27 calendar

The International Skating Union unveiled an action-packed schedule on Monday, setting the stage for another year of world-class competitions across figure, speed, synchronised and short-track speed skating.

As part of skating's continued transformation under ISU Vision 2030, the upcoming season will further strengthen the way the sport is presented, experienced and shared. Through enhanced event presentation, stronger storytelling, and an athlete-first approach, the ISU aims to continue building deeper engagement with fans, media, broadcasters, commercial partners and new audiences worldwide.

Fans around the world can already look ahead to another thrilling chapter, with World Championships, World Cups, Grand Prix events, the Short Track World Tour, Junior competitions and more set to take place across Asia, Europe, and North America. The 2026/27 season will build towards a blockbuster ISU World Championships line-up, with titles up for grabs in Tampere, Beijing, Seoul and Nottingham.
The ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix Series will again showcase the sport's artistry on the ice, opening in Angers, France, from 23 to 25 October, before travelling to Kelowna, Shenzhen, Everett, Helsinki, and Tokyo. The series will conclude with the ISU Junior and Senior Grand Prix Final in Chongqing, from 10-13 December.

In speed skating, the ISU World Cup will feature six international stops, with the precision and power of the sport set to get underway in Beijing, from 13-15 November, before moving to Obihiro, Heerenveen, Stavanger, Salt Lake City, and Calgary. The ISU Short Track World Tour will also return for its third season, inviting fans to feel the rush across seven events around the globe. The tour will open in Vancouver, from 23-25 October, before heading to Montreal and other major skating destinations including Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing and Tilburg. The final European host city will be announced in May.

The season will conclude in Nottingham (GBR) with the ISU Synchronised Skating World and Junior World Championships, taking place from 26 March to 4 April, 2027. The event will bring together the world's best senior and junior teams and will also mark the debut of the new 'Synchro 9' format, featuring nine skaters per team and a faster, more dynamic competition structure designed to enhance both the live experience and broadcast presentation.

The next generation of skating talent will also be in the spotlight, starting with the ISU Junior Grand Prix Series from 19–22 August 2026. The series will feature seven events held across the globe:
