Team Nigeria delivered a statement performance at the Lefika International Relays in Gaborone, Botswana, as the men’s 4x400m quartet powered to qualification for the World Relays Championships in emphatic fashion.

The team of Sikiru Adeyemi, Nathaniel Samson, Victor Samson, and Emmanuel Ojeli combined strength, speed, and precision to clock an impressive 3:02.98, well inside the qualifying standard.

Their run not only secured a coveted spot on the global stage but also underlined Nigeria’s growing dominance in the one-lap relay.

From the opening leg, Adeyemi set the tone with a strong start, while Nathaniel Samson and Victor Samson kept Nigeria firmly in contention through the middle legs.

Anchor man Ojeli then delivered a composed and powerful finish to seal qualification in style.
With this result, Nigeria’s presence at the World Relays Championships in Gaborone this May continues to grow stronger.

The country is now set to compete in four events, highlighting a resurgence in its relay programme and raising expectations for a podium push on the global stage.
