Say No To Drugs, Ganiyu Oladayo urges as Glorious Promotions take Boxing to Molete Ibadan

One of the most infamous areas in the ancient city of Ibadan, South-West, Nigeria was brought to life and light over the weekend as Glorious Sports Promotions, in collaboration with the Ganiyu Oladayo Boxing Foundation, held the Molete Boxing Showdown, as part of their ‘Say No to Drugs’ campaign.

The event, which took place near the Molete Bridge on Friday, the 11th of September, 2025, in Ibadan — the largest city in West Africa, was received in heroic fashion by residents and visitors alike, as the area once notorious for nefarious activity was filled with spectators and boxing enthusiasts who came out in large numbers to pledge support to the campaign and also watch a series of thrilling bouts.
 
The CEO of Glorious Sports Promotions, Ganiyu Oladayo, explained that the goal is to leverage the popularity of boxing among young Nigerians to advocate against the illegal use of hard drugs.

Oladayo emphasized that the initiative aims not only to entertain but also to educate the community about the dangers of substance abuse. By engaging young people through the sport of boxing, fostering a healthier lifestyle and inspire positive choices among youths.

Aspiring fighters and some more experience hands confronted themselves in four-rounds boxing bouts, with local favourites such as hip-pop artists; Vtino Currency, Voldom, SBmninety and Zion Kids dance group also provided entertainment.
