NPFL Chairman, Elegbeleye, grieves the loss of Referee Assessor, Enagbare
The management of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has joined millions of football lovers in the country to mourn the death of Referees Assessor, Mrs. Rachel Enagbere describing it as most unfortunate.
Mrs. Enagbere who was in Lagos, South-West, Nigeria, as the Referees Assessor for the Match day 4 encounter, between Ikorodu City FC and Barau FC, was said to have been rushed to the Havanah Hospital in Surulere, where she later died of complications from a yet to be disclosed illness.
The Chairman, Nigeria Professional Football League, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, the described the death of Mrs. Rachel Enagbere as a huge loss to the league and entire football community in the country, as he extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.
His words: “The NPFL family is deeply saddened by the unfortunate and unexpected passing of the former referee who has been working with us as a match referee assessor.
“We extend our sincere condolences to her immediate family and to the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA),”
Elegbeleye added that the league body will liaise with the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), the Lagos Referees Council, and the NRA towards having the body returned to the family.
