Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has showered rewards on players and officials of Rangers International FC following the club's successful 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title-winning campaign.

In a grand reception held in honour of the Flying Antelopes, Governor Mbah announced a cash reward of N150 million for the club, with N100 million earmarked for the players and N50 million set aside for the management team.

The governor also approved the allocation of plots of land in Enugu to every player and member of the club's management, with each beneficiary to receive a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), further underlining the state's appreciation of the team's achievement.

The rewards come in recognition of Rangers' outstanding season, which saw the Enugu-based side emerge champions of the NPFL and reclaim their status among Nigeria's elite clubs.

Beyond the financial incentives, Governor Mbah reaffirmed his administration's commitment to sports development by assuring the club that the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium would undergo significant upgrades ahead of Rangers' participation in next season's CAF Champions League.

The governor stressed that the renovation project would ensure the facility meets continental standards, allowing Rangers to host their CAF Champions League matches in Enugu while also preparing the venue for the 2026 Coal City Games sports festival.

The announcement was greeted with excitement by players, officials and supporters, who hailed the governor's gesture as a strong motivation for the team to continue pursuing excellence on both the domestic and continental stages.

Rangers' league triumph has secured the club a return to Africa's premier club competition, where they will seek to restore the glory days that once made the Flying Antelopes one of the continent's most respected teams.

The package of cash rewards, land allocations and infrastructure commitments is one of the most significant incentives offered to a Nigerian club side in recent years and reflects the growing importance of sports as a tool for development and youth empowerment in Enugu State.
