Seven years after the passing of respected Nigerian football coach Solomon Ogbeide, his family has continued to celebrate the legacy of a man they describe as loving, God-fearing and deeply influential both on and off the pitch.

Speaking in remembrance of the former coach of Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars, his wife, Mrs. Ndidi Ogbeide, expressed gratitude to God for sustaining the family through the difficult years since his death.

According to her, the family still feels the absence of the late tactician, but has found strength through faith and the values he left behind.

“Today is seven years after my husband and lovely father died and we glorify God for standing by us,” she said.

“With His grace and mercy, we've been strong. The children are doing great though they continue to miss their father.”

Mrs. Ogbeide described her late husband as a man whose impact continues to open doors for the family even years after his passing.

“But Solo is a good man who continues to guide me and the children. The legacy of good and Godly life he lived is radiating over us. We get things done with little effort when people realise we're his family,” she added.

She also reflected on the strong spiritual foundation laid by the former coach, noting that his devotion to God and service in the church remain a source of inspiration.

“I thank God that the coach was a believer and a pillar in God’s vineyard. May his soul continue to rest in peace,” she said.

Mrs. Ogbeide further appreciated friends and associates of the late coach for their continued support to the family over the years.

“Some of his friends have also been helpful. At short notice, they are ready to assist the family, we’re grateful,” she concluded.

The remembrance once again highlights the enduring legacy of Solomon Ogbeide, whose contributions to Nigerian football and positive influence beyond the game continue to be remembered fondly by family, friends and the football community.
