Accra is already warming up for a landmark spectacle, and the race to the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships has found a powerful new ally.
In a major boost to preparations, Hoshii International has been officially unveiled as a headline sponsor for the continental showpiece, signaling a new era for athletics development in Ghana.
The announcement, made at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, carried both symbolism and substance, as government and sports stakeholders hailed the deal as a game-changer.
Sports Minister Kofi Adams framed the partnership as a strategic step toward elevating Ghana’s athletics profile on the African stage.
With Accra 2026 drawing closer, he emphasized that the sponsorship not only strengthens the championship but also reinforces the broader vision of sports as a driver of national growth.
“This is the kind of support that pushes sports forward,” Adams noted, highlighting the dual benefit for corporate partners, national impact and financial incentives through tax relief.
For Ghana Athletics, the moment carries historic weight. President Bawa Fuseini did not hold back in describing the scale of the deal.
“This is unprecedented,” he said. “We’ve had sponsorships before, but never at this level from a single entity. It’s not just about the African Championships—it’s about sustained backing, and that’s what makes this truly significant.”
Beyond branding and visibility, the partnership brings a practical edge to the competition.
Hoshii International will supply its flagship product, the X1 Energy Drink, as the exclusive energy drink for athletes throughout the championships.
The company’s marketing team underscored the product’s certification and safety, aligning it with elite performance standards and athlete well-being.
With the championships set to ignite on May 12, the collaboration adds fresh momentum to an event already rich with anticipation.
