AviaGames agrees Argentine FA sponsorship focussed on content in mobile games
AviaGames has partnered with the Argentine Football Association as a regional sponsor in a move designed to bring World Cup-themed football content into its portfolio of mobile games ahead of this summer’s tournament.
The agreement will see Argentina-inspired activations rolled out across several of Avia’s best-performing titles, including Solitaire Clash, 8 Ball Strike, Bingo Tour and Pocket 7 Games, as brands continue looking for new ways to tap into football audiences beyond traditional sponsorship inventory.
For the AFA, the deal represents another example of the commercial momentum the federation has continued to generate since Lionel Messi led Argentina to the 2022 World Cup title in Qatar, even with the captain now aged 38.
Messi remains central to much of the campaign creative. In 8 Ball Strike, football-themed billiards content will feature stylised versions of Messi, Enzo Fernández and Emiliano Martínez, while Solitaire Clash will launch an “Argentina Collaboration” season built around what is being framed as the final World Cup chapter of Messi’s career.
The activation also includes influencer-led competitions, football-themed card collections and in-game events timed to run alongside the tournament itself.
“We are excited to partner with the AFA to amplify its World Cup presence and help our players create their own winning moments in their favourite games,” said Avia CEO Vickie Chen.
AFA chief commercial and marketing officer Leandro Petersen described the agreement as an opportunity to create “a memorable celebration for AFA fans during this important World Cup moment.”
The partnership underlines the growing importance of gaming within football’s commercial ecosystem. Younger audiences consume sport across multiple screens and platforms simultaneously, so rights holders and sponsors are pushing further into interactive entertainment formats that can keep supporters engaged beyond live broadcasts and social media clips.
Mobile gaming, in particular, has become a rapidly expanding sponsorship category. Industry figures cited by Avia estimate the sector generated more than $82 billion in revenue globally in 2025.
