Andoma Peace and Unity Basketball Tournament climaxes today in Lafia

The 5th edition of the Andoma Peace and Unity Basketball Tournament reaches its grand finale today at the Lafia City Hall, Shandam Road, Lafia, Nasarawa State, bringing to a close days of thrilling basketball action, unity and community engagement.
Ahead of the final games, players, coaches, referees and members of the organising committee paid a courtesy call to the Andoma of Doma on Thursday, February 6, 2026.
The visit highlighted the cultural and traditional significance of the tournament, as participants expressed appreciation for the royal father’s support and commitment to peace, youth development and sports advancement across the state.
The Andoma of Doma, in his remarks, commended the organisers for using basketball as a tool to foster unity and harmony among young people from different backgrounds.
On the court, Day Three produced exciting results that set the tone for today’s finale. Ham Warriors edged Plateau Rocks 32–27 in a keenly contested encounter, while Titans recorded a convincing 35–25 victory over City Sparks.
Suleja Bulldogs underlined their title ambition with a dominant 55–39 win over Hurricanes, and Solid Heat sealed a hard-fought 39–34 triumph over City Stars.
Those results paved the way for today’s championship matches.
In the female final, Ham Warriors will battle Titans in what promises to be a high-intensity clash between two disciplined and resilient sides.
The male final will see Suleja Bulldogs face Solid Heat in a blockbuster encounter expected to thrill fans and stakeholders alike.
Beyond the competition, the Andoma Peace and Unity Basketball Tournament has once again lived up to its name, promoting peace, unity and sportsmanship while providing a platform for young talents to showcase their skills.
As the final buzzer sounds today, champions will be crowned, but the enduring legacy of unity and community development will remain the tournament’s greatest victory.
