Lafia Golf Club Executives pay courtesy visit to State Sports Commissioner

The Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Alhassan, on Wednesday, received the Executive Committee Members of the Lafia Golf Club, on a courtesy visit, in Lafia, the state capital.

The Permanent Secretary who received the delegation in his office on behalf of the Commissioner, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, appreciated them for the visit, and assured of sustaining the mutually beneficial partnerships between both organizations to transform the Club into a talent discovering and nurturing hub, as well as a mega revenue base.

Dr. Ibrahim promised to brief the Commissioner on the purpose of the delegation's visit for swift action.

In his address, Captain of the Lafia Golf Club, Engr. Tony Effa, said the visit was premised on strengthening existing collaborations between the Golf Club and the Ministry, present the role of golf as a growing sport, create opportunities for talent development and nurturing, and seek the support of the Ministry to tackle some of the challenges facing the Club for optimal performance and revenue drive.

He disclosed that the Golf Club is proposing to host a tournament in honour of Governor Abdullahi Sule for his stellar achievements in sports and talent development.

Joining the Permanent Secretary to receive the delegation were Directors and Senior Staff Members of the Ministry.
