Hummel agrees all-club kit deal with Canadian Premier League
The Canadian Premier League (CPL) has signed a multi-year, league-wide partnership with Danish sportswear brand hummel, which will become the Official Kit and Apparel Partner for every team in the division from 2026 – marking the first time all CPL clubs will share a single technical supplier.
Announced by Canadian Soccer Business (CSB), the agreement extends hummel’s footprint in Canada after partnering with League1 Canada last year. It will also strengthen CSB’s strategy to unify its properties under a single commercial framework, connecting professional and semi-professional levels of the domestic Canadian game.
Under the deal, hummel will design fully customised kits for all CPL clubs, supply league-branded apparel, and produce official merchandise. The first collection will launch ahead of the 2026 season – a symbolic moment for Canadian football as the country prepares to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The company have promised that, despite sharing a sportswear provider, each of the league’s clubs will receive “bespoke designs reflecting their individual identities, local stories and fan cultures”, while simultaneously operating under a unified visual and commercial umbrella.
The arrangement gives hummel control over the entire CPL technical portfolio, creating efficiencies in production, marketing and international visibility that few leagues outside Europe can match.
“This partnership reflects the momentum behind Canadian soccer and the CPL,” said James Johnson, Group CEO of Canadian Soccer Business. “By bringing hummel’s global brand and design expertise to every club in the league, we’re reinforcing our commitment to a unified, recognisable identity that strengthens the game across all levels.”
For hummel, the partnership is part of a deliberate North American expansion strategy ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The experienced Danish brand, meanwhile, sees the CPL as a growing platform in one of football’s most enthusiastic emerging markets.
“Partnering with the Canadian Premier League marks a significant step forward in our North American expansion,” said Lars Stentebjerg, hummel’s CEO. “Canada represents a vibrant and fast-growing football culture – one we’re proud to support for the long term.”
