Saints renew with 8×8 as they battle for Premier League bounceback

Relegation from the Premier League is a hammer blow to any club’s finances, and Southampton have felt that sting after falling through the trapdoor last season. With parachute payments dwindling and commercial revenues under pressure, the Saints have extended their partnership with cloud communications provider 8×8 into the 2025/26 season.

The partnership, first struck in 2022, has become embedded in the daily life of the club with 8×8’s technology helping Southampton maintain a direct line to its supporters. 8×8 branding will remain visible on the big screen and LED boards at St Mary’s.

Jamie Snaddon, the 8×8’s EMEA managing director, said: “This partnership is about more than sponsorship. It’s about giving the club the tools to connect with supporters in ways that feel personal, whether that’s answering a fan’s question, delivering a matchday update, or creating a memorable surprise. We’re proud to keep building those moments together.”

For the Saints, the renewal is also a show of resilience. Director of IT Huw Fielding noted: “8×8’s technology has become part of the way we operate – from supporting our ticketing and hospitality services to enabling unique experiences for our supporters. Renewing this partnership means we can keep raising the bar for how we connect with fans, on matchdays and throughout the year.”
