Mediapro to launch dedicated channel to stream every 2026 game live in Spain

Mediapro will launch a dedicated channel to show every match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Spain, guaranteeing full coverage of the expanded tournament.

The Spanish media group has reached a sublicensing deal with public broadcaster RTVE, which will screen 71 matches free-to-air. Mediapro’s GolStadium platform will carry the full 104-game package for pay-TV operators, replicating the model used for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar through Gol Mundial.

This mixed approach is familiar territory in Spain. Previous tournaments have seen rights split between public and private operators, with RTVE traditionally ensuring a broad free-to-air footprint. Back in 2018, Mediapro partnered with RTVE to balance commercial revenue from subscriptions with the mass reach of public broadcast. The 2026 deal continues that strategy, combining accessibility with premium content.

The agreement arrives as FIFA’s biggest tournament overhaul takes shape. The World Cup has been expanded from 32 to 48 teams, with fixtures staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico between 11 June and 19 July 2026. The result is a marathon schedule of 104 matches – the longest World Cup in history.

For Spain, champions in 2010, qualification begins with UEFA group games against Turkey, Georgia and Bulgaria. Only winners secure automatic passage to North America, adding extra tension to the campaign.

Mediapro’s new channel reflects the changing ways fans consume the game. With audiences now split between traditional television and digital platforms, the dedicated World Cup service is designed to capture both markets – ensuring that in Spain, every second of the action will be available.
