The Head Coach of Kwara United, Tunde Sani, has assured fans that his team is fully prepared to give a good account of themselves, ahead of next weekend’s CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg tie against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

Speaking after his side’s goalless draw against Warri Wolves in Ozoro on Sunday, Sani who praised his players’ resilience, said the game served as the perfect rehearsal for the trip to Ghana and helped them shape up for the continental challenge.

“It was a good game and a good test ahead of Asante Kotoko,” he said. “I believe Asante cannot do more than what Wolves did here today. We were put under a lot of pressure and we survived it. If we can survive this, then we can survive in Ghana.”

Kwara United booked their place in the CAF Confederation Cup following their President Federation Cup triumph in May after they edged Abakaliki FC in the final in Lagos.

The Ilorin-based side will be making their return to continental football with high hopes of a strong outing.

Domestically, the Harmony Boys have had a mixed start to the new Nigeria Premier Football League season, with two draws, one win and one defeat, leaving them on five points in 12th place on the league table.

Despite their league form, Coach Sani believes his squad has what it takes to stand toe-to-toe with Asante Kotoko when both sides meet for the first time on the continent.

The much-anticipated clash will hold on Sunday, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the second leg expected to be played in Ilorin with renovation of the Rashidi Yekini Mainbow, George Innih Stadium already in place.
