Kenya to officially bid to host either the 2029 or 2031 World Athletics Championships.
This was made public on Wednesday during the flag handover ceremony for Team Kenya by President William Ruto in Nairobi.
The Kenyan President, explained that the East African state is ready to meet the demands of World Athletics (WA), in order to stage a successful World Athletics Championships come 2029 or 2031.
China is the host of 2027 World Athletics Championships and the World Athletics body will be awarding the hosting rights for the next two Championships during it Congress in Tokyo.
President William Ruto has officially flagged off the Track and Field team that will represent the Country at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo Japan.
58 athletes will be representing Kenya in Tokyo. Olympic gold medallists Faith Kipyegon, Beatrice Chebet and Emmanuel Wanyonyi are among 58 athletes named in Kenya's provisional squad for the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025.
Kenya had unveiled a star-studded squad for the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo 2025. From the lightning pace of Ferdinand Omanyala to the endurance of Faith Kipyegon and the field power of Julius Yego, the team blends proven champions with exciting new names.
The team will be leaving in batches and the first batch Will be leaving the country next Tuesday for Tokyo.
President William Samoei Ruto urged Team Kenya to do their best in Tokyo and assured them by the time they are back from Tokyo he will have considered the Affordable Housing reward for their efforts.
