Houston 2026 powers on with Quanta Services alliance

World Cup 2026 host city Houston are delivering a lesson in how to secure local sponsorship following the old advertising adage of ‘act local, think global’.

The local organising committee has announced Quanta Services as an Official Supporter of Houston World Cup 26 Host City, adding to similar sponsorships announced in the last few months with Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB), and the Texas city of Sugar Land, in Fort Bend County, 20 minutes southwest of Downtown Houston, via its Visit Sugar Land tourist authority.

Quanta Services provide specialised infrastructure solutions to the utility, renewable energy, technology, communications, pipeline and energy industries. A locally headquartered business in the energy capital of the world, Quanta has operations throughout the US, Canada, Australia and other international markets.

Houston has put the creation of a lasting impact on the local community at the heart of its 2026 hosting with a focus on initiatives that promote safety, workforce and culture, and sustainability.

“Creating connections is at the heart of Quanta’s mission, and our partnership with the Houston World Cup 2026 Host City reflects not only our deep roots in Houston, but also our commitment to crafting certainty that results in strong, resilient communities,” said Quanta President and CEO Duke Austin.

Houston will host seven matches at the NRG Stadium, five group games, one round of 32 match and one round of 16 match.

Chris Canetti, President of the FIFA World Cup 26 Houston Host Committee, said: “Quanta’s leadership in providing critical infrastructure solutions, coupled with its strong commitment to safety, workforce and culture, community well-being and sustainability, aligns perfectly with our vision for this historic event. Their support will help us deliver an extraordinary tournament while creating meaningful programs that leave a positive legacy for Houston.”

No value was given for the sponsorship.
