In an action-packed encounter, Akwanga All Stars emerged victorious, securing a 1-0 win over a determined Makurdi All Stars(Gaadi) of Benue State in the inaugural edition of the North Central Zonal All Stars' Football Tournament holding at Rishama College Football Field, Jos road, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.

Captain Hassan Dogara 'Roma''s second-half goal through a powerful header on Friday evening had earned victory for the team, propelling them to the final of the tournament.

The solitary goal proved enough to see the hosts of the tournament through, as they defended resolutely against a spirited Makurdi All Stars side, with Akwanga All Stars' central defender, CJ Akolo, emerging the FANS' Player of the match.

The win has set a thrilling final showdown between Akwanga All Stars against Kuje Veterans FC of Abuja who defeated Pro Leisure FC of Jos, Plateau State 1-0, in the other semi-final clash at the same venue on Friday afternoon.

Both Pro Leisure and Makurdi All Stars will lock horns by 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon in the third-place play-off to determine the third and fourth-place finishers in the competition.

The finale between Akwanga All Stars versus Kuje Veterans holds on Saturday, 6th September, 2025, by 4pm amidst high-profile functionaries and sports enthusiasts across the State, and beyond, at Rishama College Football Field, Jos Road, Akwanga.

The tournament aims to foster unity, advocate the advancement of football development at the grassroots and create awareness for peace and development in the North Central Zone.

Springsoca United Academy kicks off new season with intensive training

The management of the football Academy stated that participants in the U-13 Teams will now train twice weekly, while U-15 Teams and older will engage in three weekly sessions. This structure is designed to improve fitness levels, tactical awareness, and long-term development.
