Adopt Winning Attitude - Hon. Enabulele urges Team Edo

The Executive Chairman, Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has charged athletes, coaches and officials representing the State, to embrace a winning mindset and uphold a culture of excellence, as they seal final preparations in readiness for the 2024 National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba, Delta State, South-South, Nigeria.
 
In a statement issued by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Honourable Enabulele urged Team Edo to compete with pride, discipline, and sportsmanship, stressing that the journey to victory begins with the right attitude.

“Our athletes must imbibe a winning mentality in every aspect of their participation. They are not just representing themselves, but the entire Edo people. They must be worthy ambassadors—on and off the field—while aiming for gold,” he stressed.

The Commission Chairman expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation and commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his unwavering support for sports development in the state.

“Team Edo is well-prepared and determined to excel,” he added.

The Commission’ Executive Chairman, further emphasized the significance of the annual age-group showpiece, describing it as a platform to foster national unity and healthy competition among young athletes from across the country.

Team Edo will be fielding a 280-member contingent to the 9th edition of the Youth Games. 115 male and 165 female —alongside coaches, officials, and state delegates.
