The Commissioner for Sports in Ogun State, Honourable Isiaka Wasiu, on Friday, shower praises on, Team Ogun's record-breaking swimmer, Tobiloba Omolola as she broke two records in swimming on Day 5 of the 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged Gateway Games, currently underway in the State.
Honourable Isiaka Wasiu, stated that Tobiloba Omolola is not just a sensational and adroit swimmer but one worthy of note.
The Honourable Commissioner, emphasized that the state is elated to have her and promised that her outstanding performance will be fully rewarded labeling her one of the most formidable athletes in the competition.
Omolola set a New National Record and Festival Record in the 800m freestyle women with a time of 10:22.32, and a new festival record in the 400m freestyle women with a time of 4:53.34.
Omolola's was the center of attraction on Day 5, as fans and sports lovers stormed the MKO Abiola International Stadium, in numbers to catch a glimpse of the National champion.
Honourable Isiaka added that he strongly believes that more medals will come to the state.
He commended fans and sports lovers from the Art and cultural capital, Abeokuta for coming out to show their support to Team Ogun athletes, emphasizing that their presence at the sports feast is well appreciated.
