Snoop Dogg is LA’s Face for World Cup

Los Angeles has pulled off its biggest coup yet for the 2026 World Cup, landing the famed rapper, producer, and actor Snoop Dogg as the face of their community outreach efforts.

Snoop, 53, will chair the Host Committee’s community engagement program as LA prepares to host eight matches at SoFi Stadium, where the Dogg performed his stunning Super Bowl halftime show a few years ago. To add more sizzle to the snizzle, SoFi will host two matches featuring the United States Men’s National Team

“It’s an honour to step up as the Community Chairman for the City of Angels as we get ready for the biggest game on the planet,” Snoop said. “We’re going to bring the world together, West Coast style…unity, respect and a whole lotta love for the beautiful game. LA, let’s make history in 2026!”

Few figures embody Los Angeles quite like Snoop. His cultural influence extends far beyond music into sports, community work, and youth development, most notably with his youth American football team. His ability to unite diverse audiences positions him ideally to sell the World Cup to a city that doesn’t always embrace the sport with open arms, as demonstrated by the anaemic turnout for the men’s program at the recent Concacaf Nations League in March.

Kathryn Schloessman, who heads both LASEC and the LA Host Committee, said: “Snoop Dogg is more than a global icon. He embodies all that is Los Angeles, and his deep roots in the community and passion for uplifting the next generation make him the perfect ambassador as we prepare to welcome the world in 2026. We’re honoured to welcome him as our Community Chairman, supporting this major event that is going to deliver significant impact to our region and be a major source of civic pride for Angelenos.”

LA’s commitment to the World Cup includes 39 days of fan engagement across the region. With Snoop leading a Community Ambassador Program, locals will be flocking to what organisers are billing as a once-in-a-generation moment.
